I was taking a look at Amazon to see what they had for sale. Can anyone else suggest other places to look at purchasing additional collections.

ebay can be a good venue but you need to be diligent. Great collections is an excellent venue. What specifically are you looking to purchase?

Before you buy anything, take a few hours searching here for discussions about anything coin related. Forget Amazon. Even if you only plan on buying a small sample, that's not the place to buy coins.

As mentioned, Great Collections, ebay, Heritage, and other sites will offer nice coins at reasonable prices.

Come back to us with SPECIFIC questions. We will be happy to help.
Rest in Peace

The truth is there's lots of places to buy coins ,but if you are inexperienced in the hobby you can get burned and taken advantage of from a shyster .

I checked out Amazon.
(IMO), I have seen very few places more overpriced than Amazon on coins, I did not check coin book price. Just one example, 1 1937d Buffalo nickle vg to fine, $8.25. I realize everyone must make a profit but this seems to me totally out of reality, this only continues to make me sad that I live in a small town with no coin shops, I have to go to Baltimore or somewhere in Delaware to see coins to avoid buying online from some of these overpriced sellers, end of rant.

"Collectible coins" is a very broad term.
For instance, some coin collectors in the U.S. enjoy collecting modern, circulated coins from other parts of the world, which are very inexpensive (often free or nearly so), but also will never increase in value.
Other collectors only collect silver and gold coins in top condition, as part of an investment portfolio.

If you are more specific on your goals, many experts here will be willing to give you more targeted advice.

To be fair to the Amazon sellers, Amazon fees are incredibly high. Even a lot of big sellers don't bother with it due to the fees. There certainly are some greedy sellers on there, but the fees and the crazy long return periods are a major reason why basically all coins are so expensive there.

Prior to buying anything in coins, buy yourself a copy of what is called the Red Book by Whitman Publishing. Also, you may want to look up coin shows and go to a few.
