John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 06/26/2019 12:45 pm Just finished a box of Loomis wrapped cents. 85% of the rolls were 1983P. The rolls all looked normal,not reused by someone.All the rolls had mixed dates,no single roll of 1983's. First time I encountered this. Best find was a real nice obverse Cud and a few nice above average grades. A few cool die cracks and die clashes,and a few odd finds as well. Didn't check the weight on them until I purchased an acceptable balance. So, about 2 years back, I dumped a shoebox full of ~2.5g 1983 Lincolns. I'll bet it could be something along those lines. On a smaller scale, when I get bags of 50p coins from my local bank to check through, I tend to separate them by date and type, and afterwards I fill the bags with the unwanted coins, usually taking them from the piles I've made... so any collector getting bags of 50p coins from my 'dump bank' may well end up with full bags of 1997's!
