I think Jbuck would treat "both" Ikes pictured on this page and the previous page with great reverence !!....

Just wondering real quick.....
What is the weight and percentages of Copper and Nickel in an Eisenhower dollar ?
And why aren't all of the "copper hunters" seeking out this Ike coin ?

my guesses only is b/c the copper is not worth more than the dollar you can spend it at

There are 0.0458 pounds of copper and 0.0042 pounds of nickel in $1.00 face value of Eisenhower

Total melt value is $0.19.

Bronze makes a bit more sense to melt for other uses, but if a refinery took Cu/Ni coins, how would their refining costs offset "melt value"? Seems you'd need to deliver a rail car of coin to make that worthwhile.

the only cu/ni coin worth seeking out is the nickel only b/c its worth more than face
There are 0.1653 pounds of copper and 0.0551 pounds of nickel in $1.00 face value of nickel
Total melt value is $1.04.

Yeah....I wish I had enough Silver Ikes TO hoard !!
The few I have certainly don't quantify a hoard
