Anyone here have a 2006 5 before they changed design?. The reason I ask You know you can hold it up and see a guy in between the front and back of the note right? Who is that guy on the 5 doesn't look like lincoln. I think it would be hard to post a pic so better to have one in hand

I always thought it was Lincoln without the beard, at least that is what it looks like to me.

It is called a watermark and it is a long used anticounterfeiting measure. Many stamps from the 1800s incorporated watermarks on the reverse of the stamp and it is frequently found on checks as well. BTW, it is a watermark of ol' Abe himself
