Personally I have two collections .......
My 'keepers' ie the ones I chose to covet
And that other collection which exists in a state of flux
Pieces come and pieces go
The price often depends on how much I like the piece
Some of them you need to convince me to part with
And sometimes I simply go out on a limb and buy too many
And so I let the market decide which ones I get to keep !
But my selling finances the buying
And the thrill of the hunt is half the fun
