Take a close view of that area. Note that the area is question is flat. That is what Machine Doubling looks like. On a doubled die, it will still show the contour. Note on the loser image you can see a spread line in the centers of the devices. Note also that this enlarges the normal size of the devices. Machine Doubling is a reduction of the normal size of the devices.
