The 1804 was only minted in Proof strikes, so you'd never see the weaknesses like you see on the eagle on the reverse (around the neck and the wing feathers, for instance).
Furthermore, it's one of the rarest American coins and according to PCGS there are only 15 known examples. This is largely because the 1804 strike was actually minted about 30 years later, apparently for diplomatic purposes.
If that coin were genuine it would likely hold a 7 figure value, even in that poor condition.
