Found 16 of these in a $100.00 bank box all were in great shape with 6 appearing to be from the same die displaying 4 full steps. Not the best one of the lot condition wise but this one shows some of the 5th step. Not versed in Jefferson's would appreciate opinions on grade and steps. Thanks. Happy 4th of July all.

I'd say MS-64 but guessing not FS.

This is just my opinion but with a couple/few contact marks on the front and a heavier rim hit I'd give it a MS63.

As far as steps go, there are numerous interruptions, so the word "full" does not apply but it is well struck from an earlier die state.

MS63-64 fantastic. Its amazing something like these can be found in bank boxes 60 years after issue. About 6 of the bunch look better than this one but have weaker steps. Just couldn't throw them back gave them an acetone rinse then in flips. 5 step nickels must truly be scarce as in $200.00 worth of nickels searched this was the only pre 1970 with above average steps.

MS-63 just bc of the obverse scratches and rim scratches. Good detail
Rest in Peace
