Picked this one up today based on reading another thread about 1900-O Morgans. The big drawback is the fingerprint, but it is certainly uncirculated despite the poor choice of natural lighting I made this afternoon. Any feedback on grade and VAM appreciated. HABIB

Looks like a VAM 9, O/CC. Nice find, O/CC is one of my favorites

Nice one, I would put it in about MS-63. Not too many hits to the obverse, and a nice clean reverse- could even go 64. Nice O/CC too ! I have had an affinity for these of late and you can get them out of circ bins if you look at enough. I have one that I bought graded, and two that I got from the circ box for about 14 bucks each. The O/CC is one of the major varieties that has been listed for a long time in the numismatic publications. Not real rare, but it is popular and that makes it pricey !

Looks like another obverse limited Morgan. Poor thing. I would be hard pressed to get this past MS63. The more I look at it, the more I notice extra hits on the obverse also. In the bonnet, a pretty good shot below LIBERTY, and some scratches in the lower hair curls. These may be enough to drop it below a 63, but I'm not sure. I think most MS63 coins typically have some hits in the prime focal areas of the cheek and fields, but are otherwise clean..... Regardless, very nice VAM and a very nice addition to anyone's collection.

So would it be a good deal for $450?

Quote: So would it be a good deal for $450? According to Teletrade, and barring it doesn't come in lower than MS63, yes, that's a good deal. Prices will only go up.

Aside from the finger prints on the obv the fields on both sides are clear with lots of mint luster... solid MS-63 $1000!

HB, 2 things I'd like to know. When I enlarge the obverse picture, there appears to be a thread like line in the cap just above the ribbom. With the reverse enlarged, appears to be a die crack through left star going toward UNITED. If these two markers are present this is more likely a VAM 11.

I believe you are correct--yes, in fact, I now see it, it is a VAM-11. All right. Not bad for $45.

I like the O/CC myself also, they seem to be over looked by allot of people and you can find some real nice coins for very little money if they don't see that it is in fact a O/CC coin because the the 1900-O isn't a very pricey coin even in super high grades
