So after all the fixes and hints with the winged horse, I think it's https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces236944.htmlThe weight of the coin is indicated as 15.72 g, which is less than 16. I'm going to sleep, and you figure it out further. I'm tired. I'm tired of not understanding what's going on here. It's a mess. Edited by Slerk

According to mrwhatisit's "hints" this coin contains both a seated figure and a winged horse and was on that list that Keith gave in error (all the coins weighed more than 16g)

If you type "Pegasus" into Keith's list only one option comes up but it weighs 17.15g and is from the Kingdom of Macedonia I'm gonna guess it anyway: Tetradrachm - Alexander III (Amphipolis) (310 BC - 294 BC) https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces189045.htmlI also am going to bed and hope my headache is gone in the morning.  |

Very sorry about all this, this is the reverse:  It comes closest to Price-#2466, just the horse is smaller, and the diameter is slightly larger and the weight is a little bit higher...  Edited by mrwhatisit

Price#2466 is from the kingdom of Macedonia. Mrwhatisit you have us all confused.
When giving answers to questions you need to use the information on Numista, not of the actual coin.
So the weight on Numista is 16.78g and the diameter is 33mm and that is what you should go by, not the weight and size of your own worn example.
We don't have crystal balls.

Lovely coin mrwhatisit, but if you aren't sure exactly what it is how are we supposed to get it right. Coin has been revealed and nobody guessed it so seems mrwhatisit is GM again for next round.  |

I agree with triggersmob.You need to provide information with numista. Especially in the case of ancient coins.

And the obverse:  Yeah, so much for doing the oldest coin in my collection, and probably the entire thread. Alexander the Great tetradrachm from approximately 330BC, and I just simply called it ancient Greek  (Kingdom of Macedonia never actually entered my mind as I thought it was to the north of actual ancient Greece). I just went with the actual specs of my personal coin, and answered as to fit my coin. For the life of me, I cant seem to wrap my head around as to why numista had the reign of Alexander the Great as about 330BC but showed a different set of dates, and I might be assuming that was when these coins were actually minted, around the 150BC era. I always assumed these gorgeous Greek coins were literally minted during the reign of AtG or slightly after, but not much after. Before me joining CCF, I knew of numista, but never really used it until this game. |

Oh yeah, it is kinda impossible to cut and paste strips of data to another location from all on a touchphone. I do literally everything on CCF on my phone, so doing question summaries is rather difficult for me. I swear, this is partly why I seem to be a tad awkward on a few things here.  A brand new laptop computer would change all that!  I am definitely learning much here already, not to worry too much you are all helping me! Edited by mrwhatisit
