 @steelheadwill. Apparently you did not even need @james' advice to formulate a confusing question  (I think you may have asked as many as three). Yes, this coin was minted between the Prime Meridian and the 180 degrees longitude, which fits one definition of the Western Hemisphere (the geometric one). 4/20 And thanks for the compliment on our high moral caliber here. Since we have a newcomer who may or may not have had the prior pleasure of considering certain (ahem) nuances of the game ...
@spence's question already ruled out that this coin "comes from" Europe.
Had it not, or if @steelhead's question came first, it would still have allowed this coin to be minted in the U.K., Ireland, Portugal or Spain, all of whose national mints lie west of the prime meridian.
Just pointing out that when we use hemisphere vs continent, as well as "minted in" vs "issued by" we eliminate slightly different options.
Speaking of options, I took a quick look at numista, and I think there are still 11,476 possibilities.
But you guys have a lot of questions left, so I'm sure you'll get it.

Was this coin minted before Casper the Friendly Ghost was introduced to the world?

Yes.
Recap:
The coin is dated after the Japanese painting (roughly 1850?), but before Casper the Friendly Ghost (1939)
The coin is not from Europe (Vlad the Impaler was from Wallachia, present day Romania), but was minted somewhere between the Prime Meridian and the 180 degree meridian.

Yes, the St. Augustine monster had already washed ashore before this coin was minted.

Ok good to know. Sounds like the date bracket is down to 1896 to 1928. To round out the scary date questions, had Charles Stanton Ogle played Frankestein's monster yet when this coin was made?
