My concern is whether this includes .500 silver coins or not. This is not an official question, but hopefully Spence can clear it up. 1. This coin dates to after AD 1600. 2. This coin was issued by a monarchy. 3. This coin was issued by a country that is partly in the Eastern Hemisphere and partly in the Western Hemisphere. 4. The country that issued this coin is not part of the European mainland. 5. This coin dates to after AD 1700. Hint #1: this coin was issued by one country for use elsewhere. 6. This coin circulated in a country that is not land-locked. Hint #2: Just to clear up the whole minted/issued subject, I agree with this statement: "all the English colonies are in play." 7. I'm quite sure that this coin was minted at the British Royal Mint. 8. This coin dates to after AD 1901. 9. This coin dates to before 1953. 10. This coin is predominantly silver. 11. So, we have Hong Kong and Straits Settlements with silver denominations minted under Edward VII or George V, and lots of islands, though I do not know whether the coins were minted at The Royal Mint. Fiji is out now based on both mint and date (sop much for my hunch  . Trade dollars issued for use in China? China has some islands, but maybe not "a lot." I don't know if there are other options (i.e. I havent googled British colonies in Asia/Pacific), just been going from memory of the British Colonies part of my collection that's mostly been sold off. Is the coin issued exclusively for circulation in a country of the Southern Hemisphere?
