NewbieCoiner808,
I have a CherryPickers' Guide and it only shows a leaf extending above the arrow tips and a leaf touching the "A" in "DOLLAR".
Is there another reference for other diagnostics for this variety?

Well defined eagle tail feathers (as the reverse was struck with a proof die) and the leaves rise up to touch the arrow shafts opposite of the arrow tips. Then of course there's the wide spread between E & S

NewbieCoiner808,

Thanks for the reference.. it is all about the knowledge.

You made me jealous with your find and will have to check my mint sets and proofs.

Once again congratulations with your find

I'll give you a tip that I use when looking for type B's...before I even put the coin under the microscope, I look at the tail feathers with the naked eye. (I found both of mine just looking at them in my hand) Once you look at enough of them and find a type b, you will notice how much more distinguished the tail feathers are with just your eyes. Then if I'm not sure, I put it under the microscope and look at only 2 things; the leaf rising above the arrow points and the leaf rising to touch the arrow shaft. Those are the most significant differences to me. It's too hard to look for a spread between E & S. Once you find one, it will all make sense. And trust me, if I can find one, Hellen Kellar can too. Just ask anyone on this forum lol
