1960 D Jefferson Nickel Doubled Die Obverse / DDO -001

Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 07/06/2019 2:47 pm While at the bank I looked down at the cupholder in my wife's car and found a shiny little nickel. So, me being me, I snatched it out of the cupholder and ran it through the loupe. It is a 1960 D DDO-001 Jefferson nickel. There is only one that has been attributed so might be a tough one to spot. I think this one may be a different stage. The 4th and 6th pics were borrowed from VV. Tell me what you think. Report this Post to the Staff

Tanman2001 Pillar of the Community United States 4404 Posts	Posted 07/06/2019 2:56 pm The two 1960-D nickels I've looked at since learning of this variety have had this doubling, I'm skeptical about this one being a true DDO. Also, mintmark location on yours doesn't look like a perfect match so I'm leaning towards DDO-001 not being a true DDO. Report this Post to the Staff
