Looks like a pattern of sure holes, different in front and back and even on the rim. Have seen them on different coins. Any ideas?

That's called damage, PSD. Not an error coin.

I have a nickel like this..idk..check it out..would be interesting to know what does this to a coin without messing up the back of it of leaving any pressure ridges around whole..

@martin, there are some metal surfaces that have diamond-shaped protuberances to help with preventing slippage. One example is that the faces on machinist's bench vices sometimes have this.

Makes perfect sense spence..its always cool to investigate these damages and get answers of the causes...a damage section for people to refer to might not b bad.i feel so many questions would b answered by refering to it from time to time

Some people might argue that this section of CCF (US Modern Coin Variety and Error) is that section because the majority of coins posted are damaged rather than mint errors. Feel free to look back at a couple pages of old posts in order to build up your knowledge of determining mint errors from damage.
