For several reasons I use win 98 se
once in a while it will arrange my favourites alphabetically
Is there any way I can tell my computer I do not want alphabet and that I go by preferences ?

I used to have a similar problem so the only way I found around it was to number the bookmark folders from 1 upwards and put my bookmarks in those folders. That way the folders were already in order and windows couldn't re-arrange my bookmarks already inside the numbered folders.

If you don't want a list of numbered bookmarks just create 1 and put them in there...hope this helps.
Rest in Peace

Ageka, this is a little off topic for the forum, but it sounds like your browser is messing up. Which browser are you using? If you're using Internet Explorer which is known to mess up in odd ways, you might want to switch to Firefox.

Bon chance, mon ami!

Hmmm... not sure that is possible. If you want to experience a bit, try a IE based browser that allows you quick access to your regularly visited links: www.maxthon.com.

There is a favorites toolbar with a small star icon that allows you to access the regularly visited favorites.

Not sure this is the advice you are looking for...

Hi ageka

Once you have stored your bookmarks , move them to a document folder, they will work from there also, I have several of my top sites stored in My Documents, I also use Win 98 and the program automatically alphabetizes I dont think there is anything short of taking that out and inserting new directives directly into the program, which is way beyond my feable skills.

I found a way around the severest problems
Starting every topic with a prefix of the alphabet
A like A Goldseiten de
B the wallstreet on line de
Coin is easy
D muenzen forum

But I have IE 6.2800 and every month or so it will rearange alphabetically
I do not understand the trigger why or when it does so and sometimes the last favourite added is after the lettre Z
Since I have 14 folders with hundreds of favourites I sometimes loose a favourite in the multitude

@ Morgan Fred I am sorry if it is off topic but every hour I loose looking for something is an hour I cannot offer my expertise when or where asked
