Dave42 Pillar of the Community United States 571 Posts	Posted 07/10/2019 12:19 am Definitely acid of some sort. Different strengths and types of acid will affect the coin differently. The dead giveaway that this coin has been affected by acid is how the copper core on the edge of the coin has been eaten away more than the copper-nickel clad layers. Pure copper is much more reactive to acid than the copper-nickel, so it is dissolved quicker than the outer clad layers. Report this Post to the Staff
