Hello, Which auction house(s) would you recommend for selling slabbed World coins in US? Main key point would be not having $5000 minimum consignment limit which Heritage auctions and Stack's Bowers have.

I already know about GreatCollections but are there any other good options? I'm not going to sell coins myself using ebay.

Thank you.
Rest in Peace

You've already covered it all.

Unless you want to do ebay. But there is a great amount of work required.

For a consignment that size ebay likely would be your best bet even though you don't want to use it. Great Collections would probably be your other best bet, but if you compare GC to ebay you'll see different countries do significantly better on the two venues with the best one depending on what it is. You could look at David Lawrence auctions too but world coins don't seem to do very well there

Steve Album out of Santa Clara has some excellent auctions, and their main expertise is in Asian and Middle Eastern coins, so they definitely hit the international market hard.

Thank you for suggestions.

Slabbed coins that I have are Grand Duchy of Finland markka coins. I'm trying to build two different sets PL and high grade sets. Because of that I acquire few extra pieces because of upgrading my sets.

I'll probably end up using either Stephen Album or GC auctions. Of course other option would be to collect enough coins and consign to HA but I would rather sell my slabs in decent time and use that extra cash to buy more markka coins .

I recommend GreatCollections, but clearly I'm biased. Our world auctions have been growing over the past few years. If there's any questions or anything I can do to help, please e-mail me at ian@greatcollections.com or phone our office.
