This Wheat penny I found recently looks like it's tin or zinc clad with a copper core. Any ideas? It weighs 3.06 grams.

I was going to say it's a fake, but why would anyone want to fake a 1926 penny?

It's NOT a fake, it's just a plated coin. Genuine coins of all types have been plated for generations for whatever reason.
