Pretty old coin, still looking good for its age. A keeper Id put it in a 2X2. For grading purposes, always take a picture of the observe and the reverse (heads and tails).

 to CCF. Looks like a Grease Filled Die issue. The 1 is not missing,I still see some of it in the last pic. Not much if any added value. John1

@SC, first welcome to CCF. Second, while this Indian Head cent is not in the best condition, I think that the value it has comes from it being a coin of this series (IHCs) rather than the mostly missing 1 in the date. With this amount of wear and tear, it certainly could have been a partly grease-filled die that caused the 1 to not be fully struck, but that digit could also have been mostly removed after this coin left the mint too. I agree that pics of both sides of the coin are needed to determine the grade.

 Or it could be a coin minted in the year 881 AD.  But then how would they know about Indians.?
