I have a 1970 S not sure if it is an error. I have been searching coins for a few months now and still don't have an eye for how to tell if something is an error. I have the CherryPickers Guide and look at pictures online but my brain still is not sure. Thanks.

Circulation wear and flattening, plus a tiny bit of Machine Doubling as well. Spendable, since this coin got heavily damaged outside the U.S. Mint. PSD, not an error coin.

to CCF yohanus1,

I am relatively new at coin roll hunting for errors and varieties.
And I think you did great on this one. You didn't find it in the CherryPickers' Guide because it was not an error or a variety.
Even though the CherryPickers' Guide identifies a lot of VARIETIES and ERRORS it is not all inclusive.
So, in conjunction with the CherryPickers' Guide I use the following websites:

And good luck CRH!

Welcome to CCF!

As everyone said, this is a normal circulated coin. As for finding varieties, if anything looks odd or out of place don't hesitate and post it here. You will know when you find a variety, for now I'd just study pictures and years that are known to have varieties.

Cheers
