Hi Folks. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is something? I found this in with my other coins. It looks perfect on the front. The back has a tapered edge all the way around. It does not look like someone did this at home, the front has no marks like it has been hit. Looks like a perfect ring around the outer edge of the back. Is it valuable? or just a neat piece to add to my collection? Thanks for your time. I have others I have questions about, but that's for the future.

Welcome to the forum! That's definitely post mint damage (aka PMD) so that quarter is worth face value.

Some of us are curious what the other side looks like ... I can see why that one caught your eye!

I agree that this is a damaged quarter-just worth face value.

Note the obverse rim? The reverse had one until someone removed it on this coin.

Definitely Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Not an error coin unfortunately. Probably got sanded down most likely by the looks of it.

Thank you everyone. Been saving old and neat looking coins for years. Just don't know much about what would be that rare find yet. Will post some others I have later. Have a great weekend. Thanks again.
