I guess this would classify as having to much time on your hands during the winter months. I made these back in the early 1970's when I first started detecting from finds I made during the warm months. Sort of tacky now but I just can't seem to part with them. What else do you do with old keys & bullets.

Hi Quartermaine
Pleasure to have you with us !!
Those are really quite unique collections !!
I dont find them tacky, but then Ive got cans, boxes ,jars and several small bowls with similar items in them .
I get a thrill out of finding the skeleton keys !!! and a charge out of finding bullets and shell casings, I have found a few of the rim fire cartriges here in New Mexico, but I have yet to find one that is not damaged, it will happen one day and a goal will have been met !!!
Thanks for sharing with us , I appreciate it !!
Rick

I think these are far from tacky and a very clever way to display your finds! You may start a "new" old trend with these pictures! Mike

Okay, I guess I'll keep them. Its surprising to me how much I kept from years gone by, looking through some drawers tonight I came across more keys, bullets, coins from the 1700's - 1900's, Buffalo nickels which includes a few semi-keys but conditions not there & not sure if they'll sell on ebay. I guess I'm just a pack rat at heart.

Heres a coin that I've never been able to identify. Found it on a early homestead in Rome, Wi. Its about the size of a nickel, looks to be copper, and very thin. Dated 1758?

The Crown along with the Lion and Unicorn would suggest a British token of some sort.
