I put them into 2x2s and then line up the 2x2s in old player piano music roll boxes, but I'm not displaying them--just storing them.

I often try to find deals on boxes that can be re-purposed. Like this box below was made for the 25th anniversary of Israel and like 10 years ago I offered the guy to buy a bunch at a lower price, like $5 each, and he took it. But of course that is just an idea, you can find a lot of different boxes made for other coins, these were just made for gold coins and were olive wood so I made some lots of King Herod and his son and grandson in the three holes and I think they displayed well. There are different ones and different sizes actually and people must have melted down the gold or whatever as these boxes are as available as ever from the same guy. After all these years, since he is still stuck with them, he might take much less I imagine. (Notice you can cover the inner lid like in mine and the link shows what it says under there.)

I use a riker type box that has 2x2 squares in black felted background, with a glass cover. Then I make up 2x2 labels for each square. You can find rikers on ebay.

One of the things I like doing most is displaying my coins. So I experiment:

Convenience - A cheap display case that is easily transportable. Comes with top.

More expensive aluminum case that can hold multiple trays- very nice and sensible. Easily take out the coins.

A coin album - convenient and able to hold many coins.

Displayed in my office -

As you can see, I have my coins in plastic flips, cardboard holders, capsules, nothing at all, and got some on those nifty small coin display stands. I'm always changing things around.
