1964-D Jefferson Nickel Reverse "Round The Rim" Oddity

Not sure exactly what is going on, but wonder what is going on just inside the rim on the reverse of this coin. The cracks go around the majority of the coin. I'm sure it's nothing special, just curious what it is, what it's called and how it comes about. Thank you as always!

Might be a minor Dryer Coin, since it has that "flaky" look of one, around the edges. Probably went in a dryer once.

Nice photos. I do not think it is a Dryer Coin,but I do not know what it is. I have seen more than a few over the years. I think coop said what he thought it was at one time.

It kind of reminds me of die cracks that flow around of rim devices. But that happened often years ago:
