@crispin, first welcome to CCF. Second, even if the other side looks similar, would you mind posting a pic of that side too. Also, what is the diameter and weight? From your pic, it looks like copper--would you agree or do your think it is a different metal?

It looks like the coin has been defaced. This was done to show the hatred to the ruler. Can you post a picture of the other side?

The weight is 9.5 grams, diameter is 30mm. Copper I think, smells like it anyway.
