Beautiful coin! Nice original surfaces and frosty luster. Sharp strike, which can be a challenge to find for New Orleans Morgans of this era.

There are a few minor rim dings on the obverse around 10 and 11 o'clock and some contact marks on the cheek. The obverse easily would grade MS-64. On the reverse, there are noticeable contact marks on the eagle's breast, left wing (our visual right) and (more importantly) the field between the eagle's left wing and the wreath. The reverse contact marks are probably the deciding factor between MS-63 and MS-64. There isn't much difference in value between the two grades. On a bourse floor, I could see this trading as either a MS-63 or MS-64, but priced as a MS-64 because of the strike and great eye appeal. The coin would sell very quickly. It's a great example for the date.

One suggestion, though. Please flatten the staples, to protect other coins when they are in a box together.

I always flatten staples regardless. It's just good safe practice.

I always use 2x2 plastic air-tite capsules for raw Morgan and Peace dollars for the simple reason the coins are so much thicker than the cardboard 2x2's.
