I recv'd this nickle as part of a complete Nickle Collection 1938-2015. I only paid $15 from estate in binder and most are in very nice condition. This one I believe to be AU-BU front steps visible but not a good DIE STRIKE from Mint. Please see if you agree and what would you grade this? Any Errors?=Thanks Again you are all fantastic help!

AU-55 sounds about right, but it's difficult to grade these pancakes from pics.

Weight might be helpful for the weakness of some areas of the strike.

The images show more now than what I saw the first time. Looks like the die was way over polished, just a few hundred thousands more coins and the die flow is setting in. It is an issue with an over polished die. Just a spender unless you want to save it as an educational piece for a new collector you run into.

Light circulation. AU-55. Atypical light center strikes do detract, as you mentioned. Eye Appeal 4/10, only because these are so common in MS.
