Just damaged. The 1973 and 74 always look like Spock ears.

Thank you Coop. I've had some that looked like it and than closer inspection was some kind of hit that splits the lobe.

On a doubled ear, there should be no splits on the ear. The doubled ear is raised on the design, not incuse. Incuse usually means damage to the coin or Machine Doubling.
