I tried to rotate image and I apologize. I used the program off of this site and it neither rotates or crops image for me. Plus I take the image with my phone with it properly sitting heads up. A thousand apologies because I know I keep getting the same reply to do so. I couldnt resist the urge to scratch the surface to see iff it was just damage to the surface and it is clean copper underneath. The tone seen on the face image is consistent on the back and around the edge w/not one spot of nickel or silver seen anywhere. Ive never seen anything like it. Thought you guys might enjoy. I appreciate this community
Rest in Peace

We've all had our photo fun. Just do what you hope looks best and ask questions.

As is the case with almost all toning, something reacted on or near the coin surface. Yours reduces the eye appeal and value. If you can spend it I'd recommend you do so and count it as one more lesson on the never ending trail of numismatic knowledge.

I saw an Ike yesterday that was silver plated then covered in gold leaf that was falling off. Looked kinda like that.
