I purchased a PCGS PR69 silver deep cameo Kennedy half and received it in the mail today. It was one of those auctions where it says PCGS serial number will vary from the original pic.

Well I just can not believe it could be a PR69 deep cameo with 3/4 of the front being so yellowish gold toned that you cant see the cameo effect unless you hold it at a certain angle in the light. It is not a very nice looking coin to have in a collection in my opinion.

Do you believe it is possible for it to be a Deep Cameo in this condition ? I will try to post a pic later.
Rest in Peace

Toning does not influence technical numeric grading, although it can affect eye appeal for better or worse.

If you don't like it - return it.

Unfortunately, one of the quickest lessons you will learn when dealing with certified coins is that a high grade does not necessarily translate into a coin with good eye appeal. That's why it is never a good idea to buy from sellers who only show pictures of a generic example of a coin in a certain grade. Always ask to see pictures of the actual coin you are buying.

Is it common practice to not post the coin you are auctioning? I feel like any coin that they are posting another coin to sell is going to be ugly.

I hate those stock photo listings. Don't waste my time.
