Broken post on the '8'. It can't be an over date as the devices are all set in place by the design itself. Since 1990, when the dies are ready to be used, everything is on the dies in a process. Nothing is added to the dies. If the dies are doubled, it happened during the die creation process. If the design is altered, the die is breaking down. An overdate is just not possible today.

Looks like a normal 8 with a die chip inside the lower loop.

As said looks like a die chip inside the 8.

That said, it's interesting and probably desirable to someone, maybe a few people. As to the value, who knows, maybe 1 cent, maybe a couple dollars, maybe more, depends on interest.
Put it on ebay with nice pictures on a week long auction and see what happens. Just be sure to describe it accurately and fairly and not be misleading. Who knows...
