I noticed on ebay that a seller is offering a circ 1952 Rev B 25c and a 1955 circ rev B 25c. Do these really exist or are they probably proofs that got into circulation? I suspect that they are circ proofs. Any Ideas?

TIA

Probably circ proofs -but - the dies in question were used from 1936- 1964 on proof issues, so it may not be out of the realm of possibility. If I thought I had one , I would surely want it to be authenticated (slabbed). It might be tough to tell without really good pics. This information comes from the Cherry Pickers Guide, and they mention that there could be Denver minted B reverse 56-64 quarters out there...so who knows...

I don't want to get in on the bidding, but a link might help for people to give a better idea of what the coins really are- or post the pics here.

Yes, a link would help
Another possibility is that E and S are slightly separated due to aggressive die abrading- I have seen that before and it can be a bit deceptive if not looked at carefully.

I have found circ pieces that I thought were rev b's but were actually circ proofs. You will see some mirror (proof) surfaces in protected areas around the date and word LIBERTY. It might be hard to spot on a picture on ebay, but when you have the coin in your hand and you turn it, you will see the mirrors.

I think that I see traces of the mirrors on the coins on ebay.

I wouldn't bid on them.

The ones I saw on ebay looks like circulated proofs.

The fields on a proof coin are slightly concave so that when the coin is struck the details are more prominent.

It appears to be the case on these coins.
