Spence you nailed it for me. The reverse was taken vertically and other two horizontal and that was my problem. Thank ya. I have several 82 that are definately wider twos and lettering this one has been the thinnest of all I seen. I just got five minutes ago getting me a cold Budweiser after long hard hot day of work. Had to see. And thankfully seen your idea of switching angles. One thing that is interesting and maybe be less exciting. Is I check my 82 and 83 by dropping and hearing the ping and this coin is flat and dull sounding like the newer pennies. Which is different from all the rest of 82 and same as the rest of 83s. What yall think.

It's a Small Date LMC. What's the weight? Copper or Zinc? Not that it matters, since it's normal for the Philly ones. If it was the 1982 D Small Date and it weighed 3.1 grams, you would have a very valuable coin, since it's only supposed to be on a Copper plated Zinc planchet. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/...es/1982.html

I thought small dates were valuable and I thought 82 was the last year of copper and this one I'm pretty sure isn't and maybe be more uncommon. But thanks errers. I was thinking 82 non copper 83 copper were better finds. And any small date was good. I dont have a scale available. But its definatley a flat full sound when dropped unlike my other 82 large dates and older copper pennies. I still feel like I'm getting closer. Thanks

Small Dates and Large Dates aren't rare. They're pretty common actually. They can be found anywhere. They won't command a premium, unless it's in MS BU condition. Your coin has seen a little bit of circulation. I can see slight rub on his cheek, nose and eye. It would probably grade high AU condition at best. The only rare Small Date Cent is the 1982 Small Date Denver Copper Cent, because it's a Transitional error coin. They aren't supposed to exist and should only weigh 2.5 grams on the Denver Small Dates. Only 2 to 3 examples have ever been found, so it's extremely rare.
