Good eyes, I would've probably posted it and asked the same question if I had found it. Not saying anyone on this thread is wrong (they are usually right), but get some more opinions before you discard it. Coop is usually my deciding vote bc he always has a very good explanation of his opinion with illustrations & multiple examples of what else could have caused it if it isn't doubling. I envy his passion and dedication to this hobby.

Looks close to center of the design:

So it maybe a doubled die. I don't see any other areas that shows the same pushing on that area, so I feel it is not Machine Doubling. But Something I would like to see the top of the helmet to see if any metal movement occurred there or not? It appears raised and matches the design on that area. (not flattened that I can see) But the image of the top of the helmet would be a great addition to your your images.

The center of the coin would be above and to the right of the soldier's shoulder, it is kinda far from the center.

Also that area is likely to be a weak point on the die. A very thin area of low relief surrounded by higher relief would mean a very thin piece of metal sticking out of the die that would be prone to breaking.

I doubt it's a DDR, but I would like to see the new pics.

Very slim chance of it being a DDR for the reasons stated.

The marks above the helmet looks like Reed Marks another quarter.
