Edge?

It may help to take a transverse cross sectional photo to determine if it is a cast coin with a seam etc. Usually that's indicative of it being a fake.

I failed to add that you may want to try to bend it with your fingers: internal lead mixture?

I also carry a neodymium rare earth magnet with me to test questionable coins for copper, steel, nickel or PMs etc. This is the strongest magnet in the world.

The Casterland medals were propaganda pieces to promote a proposed French colony in Casterland New York. They were a medal or Jeton not a coin. The silver originals were distributed to the board members overseeing the colony. The medals come as originals and restrikes with the restrikes being made in copper silver and gold. The originals all had reeded edges the restrikes come withe both plain or reeded edges. The official restrikes will have the metal composition marked on the edge in French ("Argent" for silver or "Cuivre" for copper) the marking is almost always on the edge below the beaver. There have also been unofficial restrike/copies made. I suspect this is one of the modern unofficial copies. One reason being that the details are even sharper and bolder than on the originals.
Rest in Peace

You all have been super helpful.

#1 Not cast.
#2 Not filled with lead.
#3 Neodymium rare earth magnets are awesome. Thank you for telling me about them and I had to buy some ASAP.
#4 Smooth edge.
#5 Engraved on edge is what appears to be a stylized outline of a motor vehicle followed by the letters "BR". The "B" may be a "D" but I am pretty sure it is a "B".

Getting very close now to solving this mystery. What significance would "Impaired Proof" carry with it as well?

Thank you all again very much and I appreciate all the assistance.

Must be from a time traveler if there is a motor vehicle on the edge. My guess is its a fantasy piece perhaps for a souvenir shop.
