Hard to tell from the photo. Could possibly be just heavily polished. You must have access to a $500 balance to get that kind of precision in the wt. Also an XRF analysis returned 875 percent gold? Any secondary metal?

It looks gold plated from the photo. This could be used to cover porosity in a casting.

It was used as jewelry and cleaned heavily in my opinion.
