I really have no idea if these are real or not, but I would love to find out. Any info with regard to identification would be greatly appreciated!

1. Guang Xu, 1875-1908 Kwangtung mint
2. Jia Qing, 1796-1820 Board of Revenue
3. Qian Long, 1736-1795 Board of Revenue
4. see #3
5. Qian Long, 1736-1795 Board of Works
6. Yong Zheng, 1723-1735 Board of Revenue? I suspect this one is Fake
7, 9-11 see #1
8. Qian Long, 1736-1795 Zhili Mint
12. Dao Guang, 1821-1850 Board of Revenue
13. see #5

DCH- thank you very much for the input! I'm sorry to ask, but do you have any idea of the KM#s? I must admit that I am still having trouble finding them in the ol' standard catalogs.

Krause is nearly worthless for cast cash, often using a single example/number for a type that has 10+ significant varieties. These are my best guesses at KM#s.

1. Guang Xu, 1875-1908 Kwangtung mint km 190
2. Jia Qing, 1796-1820 Board of Revenue km 440.4
3. Qian Long, 1736-1795 Board of Revenue km 389
4. see #3
5. Qian Long, 1736-1795 Board of Works km 427?
6. Yong Zheng, 1723-1735 Board of Revenue? I suspect this one is Fake km 362?
7, 9-11 see #1
8. Qian Long, 1736-1795 Zhili Mint km 394
12. Dao Guang, 1821-1850 Board of Revenue KM C#1-3
13. see #5 km 387.1
14. Tong Zhi 1862-1874 Board of Revenue? Suspect it's fake KM C#2-13
15. see #2 but I suspect this one is fake
16. see #5
17 see #3 387.1
18. see #3 389

Thanks! But I do have a question about #s 1,9-11. They seem as though they are struck rather than cast, and the characters are not at all crudely formed. Does this mean that they most likely are fake as well or were they struck using more modern techniques between 1895 and 1908?

Those ones are indeed machine-struck coins in the old cash coin style.

Don over at WCG apparently isn't familiar with the Chinese series; he's got one of these listed on WCG as a copy.

Sap- thanks for the info and the link! I must admit that I still am having trouble finding that KM# in my 2005 edition of the standard catalog of 20th century (and it is not to be found in my 4th edition of the 19th century). Would you happen to know under what section within the chapter on China this KM# is listed? Thanks!

DCH,
What do you use for identifying China cash coins?
I use Krause - is there a better reference?

I use Hartill's "Cast Chinese Coins" which cross references the "standard works" of Fisher's Ding and Schjoth and lists more varieties.
