This is coming with my next batch of coins so I don't have it yet but judging from it's size to a sestertius I see in the lot it is about that size so just under 30 mm. Is this a modern seal someone made?

Interesting. Well, it doesn't appear intaglio, so I guess that's a wax (or other soft material) impression from a metal or stone ring seal. I see the finger print of whoever made the impression. I did a search on the terms "tetrastyle temple ring seal" that brought up an image from an article, "A Ring from Gadara," written by Yaakov Meshorer. The article concerns a silver ring, with round seal, and it has Zeus - not an eagle - between the columns. But at least it demonstrates a seal with a similar tetrastyle temple motif.

Interesting piece whatever it is. The finger print is also very interesting. Would make a good conversation piece. Guess what this is?

Looks like a modern impression from an ancient seal matrix made for display or study. The number on the back is likely an inventory number of some sort. Compare below. Not to imply that yours is an impression of a scarab, only the similarity of format for the modern impressions.

Thanks! Just an oddity but in lots you just buy what is offered. You just bid on pages of coins and you can't pull anything. So this is one of the many things I'll have forever I suppose as you notice it was just sitting there in the page of other coins you want.
