Hello everyone,
I dont own perfect coins I'm just curious. This has probably been asked but I couldn't find it.

Lets say you have 3 coins same make and model that you KNOW should grade at MS70. The highest grade for that coin is MS69 that sold for 18,000 USD last year. My 3 questions:

** Would you get all 3 graded at the same time?

** Do you believe given the popularity and value of the MS69 that the TPG will consider giving you a lower grade?

** Do you believe TPGs always grade without prejudice, giving each coin exactly what they believe it deserves no matter the consequence?

I guess this could have been a poll. Oh well.

Thanks... John

Extremely doubtful and has nothing to do with politics. Basically same chance as winning the lottery

Yes

You'll get the grade they deserve from first tier TPGs though if you think you have 3 70s you probably wont like the results.

John,
How confident are you in your grading skills?
I would send all three.
Graders are only human.

Oh I personally agree that it shouldnt be an issue. This came from something I read on another coin site and just thought I would see what others thought. It almost sounded like a TPG coinspiracy :) thanks for your replies

NGC and PCGS are making way too money to ever consider doing ANYTHING that counts against their reputation.

It's perfectly okay to enjoy raw coins, rather than TPG. But if someone belittles their work it's usually because of their own inability to grade consistently.

Yes, you can find mistakes they make. But with the 10's of millions of coins that they've graded, it's pretty rare.
