A better picture would be helpful but I think it's a doubled or tripled die but doubled and tripled dies are numerous on Halves from the early forties. There were master hubs and master dies that had doubling. A huge percentage of halves of those years are double and tripled dies. Some are so common that they have almost no premium above their collector value based upon their condition. There is some premium so it is definitely worth keeping the coin aside from the rest.

Often, there is doubling of the profile on Miss Liberty as well. Many XF to AU Liberty Walking halves that are doubled dies can be had for $20.00 or less.

Thanks,
Bill
