Hello,

Does somebody know for what the abbreviation " Cr. " stands for as a catalog with Westphalia coins of Hieronymus Napoleon ?

Thank you!

@tch, I have been digging around on the interwebs trying to find an answer for you. For 19th Century German coins, I personally only use Krause. I do note that with large silver coins of Jerome, you will sometimes an attribution of the reference book "Dav", which stands for Davenport's "European Crowns and Thalers".

Is it possible for you to add a link or post a picture to this thread showing a coin with the "Cr." reference? Thx.

Possibly W.D.Craig, "Coins of the World 1750-1850."
Numista just uses the abbreviation C. https://en.numista.com/numisdoc/art...talogues.php

My 3d edition (1976) shows numbers 1-34 for Westphalia under this ruler (p.224-225).

@Tchervonets, if there is a specific coin, please post the date and denomination and the Cr. number, and I can check vs the catalog to confirm for you.

@Spence @tdziemia

Thank you for your help!

I have as Cr. numbers the 20 frank 1809 C as Cr.33a ; the 2/3 Taler 1813 C as Cr.9 and the 20 centimes 1810 as Cr-26.

The problem is that in the 8th edition of Krause 1801-1900 the Westphalia part is a mess - wrong photos, twice the same coin listed under different references, dates/mints listed that don't even exist, etc... So I'm trying to figure out if there's a catalog that lists more accurate info on this coinage.

Thank you very much!

Yes, this is the Craig catalog, which has 2 pages devoted to Westphalia, Cr numbers 1 to 34a.
The organization of this section is:
1. Coinage on the German Standard
A. Clausthal Mint (#1-10)
B. Brunswick Mint (#11-16a)
C. Cassel Mint (#17-20)
II. Coinage on the French Standard (Cassel-C and Paris -J)
#21-34a

I noticed that used copies are available on ebay.
