Hi all! I'm a new coin collector currently collecting 50ps and 2 pounds coins. I have a magna carta 2 pound coin it has a printing error on the edge of the coin the 'f' in of has not printed correctly. Pics included. Does this make it a rarer coin?

Maybe slightly, yes, but not enough to really command any sort of real premium. Missing bits of edge lettering are actually a lot more common than people assume. Nice find with the Magna Carta 2 pound coin though, I'm still missing that design (though I'd advise against holding it like that unless you're wearing gloves).

Oh, and

I concur with Collector28 - maybe a little scarcer but not really commanding a premium for two reasons: firstly because UK collectors are still much less interested in minor varieties than in the US; secondly because modern British coinage has so many minor quality control issues that you would go insane trying to collect them all. On another forum somebody gathered 64 of the new £1 coins and found 30 of them had some sort of minor fault!
That is not to say that someone on ebay wouldn't list this with a strong spiel and expect £100s for it - just that no sane collector should pay that.
