Titles are Important! * .First it is a certified 1869 Indian Head penny It has, I believe a shallow N.That is not mentioned on the NGC verification. Coinfrog Bedrock of the Community United States 94367 Posts	Posted 08/21/2019 10:33 pm All coins of this date have the Shallow N. This is not a grease effect. The gradual changeover to the Bold N did not start until 1870 and took 3 years to complete, when the old reverse dies were finally retired - only to be reused again for the short regular issue of 1877.
