Looking for opinions on toning for these two coins. I believe the first is genuine toning. Really nice in fact and love this coins overall appearance.

Second one, not so sure, but still a nice looking coin, though the chin boogie doesn't help. Any input welcome. Thx

Thx for input T-Bop. The reverse is already there. Maybe you just over looked it.

Also thx for reply on Grade topic. I saw your reply there as well.

Yes...first coin is amazing IMO. Yes, there is wear, but the overall eye appeal is just off the charts to me. Like a fine pastel canvas painting. Just pops at you, and says I need to be displayed. lol. Well, maybe I'm biased, but it is a looker to be sure. Thank again.
Rest in Peace

Both appear to have natural surfaces.

I'm not a fan of toning so neither one is OK with me.

Understood Carl. I do know that there are a number of folks out there that do not like toning, more seasoned coin folks, and especially as there is so much AT floating around. That was my initial question on these, particularly the second. But now believe they are genuine. But as T-Bop said, he is in your camp, but that first one I posted is an eye catcher, and is indeed my favorite. I am hoping for a good grade, though the strike, as I think moxking noted in another thread, is lacking to pass anything more than a MS66. Though some areas are excellent.

I will say though, that the first one, with that iridescent look, when all things considered, it looks like it was meant to be that way, and screams I need to be displayed. I know, that still does not convince the tone disliking folks. I think too much tone does start hitting a point where it takes away the eye appeal. Goes negative really. But it is for the eye of the beholder to decide, as long as it's authentic. I do think this coin, if graded well, can demand a nice premium if the buyer has to have it. Or needs for their collection and money is not an issue. I am not talking about huge money. Hundreds probably. Not thousands. But I have seen in my limited time at this adventure (~18 months), coins sell for ridiculous amounts, and a grade that just makes you scratch your head, though I am not an expert by any means, and the grade could reflect stuff I know nothing about. I just hope I don't get a tone hating grader. :-)

Anyway...enough of my amateur ranting. Appreciate all comments. Thx

OH...and I noted in another thread, I am asking NCS to fix the spot on the second buffalo, if it can be fixed via their conservation methods, and then will be sent over to NGC for grading. All of that is dependent on what that spot is. Carbon? Corrosion? Damage? Planchet mint derived? Regardless of making it go away via conservation, if it is damaged as a result, then it's over for any grade. Hope not. But we will see.
