Just a mention that is the mintmark die punch from the Philippines used.

Discovered and reported by Bernard J. Maier in 1947. No mention of the Philippines punch used.

Can't find much solid information to prove it was the Phillipines punch. I did find a bunch of references to 1945-S Micro S in Numismatic Scrapbook, (using NNP) and which I have a complete set of all issues, (but they are currently packed away in my storage unit, I have no easy access to search them all now).

Too many results from Coin World magazine, probably many from sales ads just listing "1945-S Micro S" no way to check all of them for articles.

Also many, many auction mentions - again probably 99% are just lot descriptions, no real information from my sampling a few various auctions.

RedBook - I am embarrassed to say I don't have a copy on hand to check at the moment, possibly information in it? Maybe someone with access to the Mega Red could verify?

Carl , other than the 1928-S & 1941-S there seems to be a few more dates that have large and small MM's but only the 1945-S is called a Micro S and normal S .
So good question , on those other dates were foreign coin MM's used ?
