Even if you could convince ebay they were counterfeit, they may still require that you return it. Sometimes they have allowed a buyer to keep a counterfeit and still require a refund, but often they still require the coin be returned. They are inconsistent with this.

It is very simple to prove your coin is a fake. A genuine 1877 CC has a type 2 reverse and obverse. Your coin has type 1 characteristics on the reverse as the feathers on the back of the eagle's head do not extend down to the wing feathers. The leaf is at the top of the letter F in the word fine. On a type 2 it extends below the top of the F. The Arrow tip on a type 2 should extend to the center of the number 2. Below is a photo of your coin with the type 1 characteristics circled and a genuine 1877 CC with a type 2 reverse.

While Slider is correct on his identification of differences between the type 1 and type 2 reverses, usually the most commonly referred to difference is the missing berry in the eagles talon above 900. Type 1 has the berry type 2 does not. See Slider's pictures.

The type 1 was last used in 1876, so your 1877 with a type 2 rev is definitely fake.

Used to be coin dealer long time ago. Haven't followed coins long time but got interested again recently. Didn't have "Sigma Metallytics" machine in my shop way back. 2nd reference I've seen last few days on this forum. How does this machine work detecting counterfeits and what is cost?

OK. Googled sigma metalytics machine. Cool. Would have saved me from buying several counterfeit coins and bars when had my shop back in 1980s. Still have one question. Does it work on scrap gold, jewelry?

Correction to my last post

The type 1 was last used in 1876, so your 1877 with a type 1 rev is definitely fake.
