Hello all,

Looking for some help in some tips on this coin. I suspect it is fake but wanted some reassurance.

It is listed as being silver and weighting 23g, VG grading.

I believe this coin is suppose to weight 25g.

Thank you in advance.

I don't see anything immediately indicating forgery, but it's very unlikely that a 2 gram light planchet is good.

I'm sure you know these have been struck as counterfeits on good silver.

Not one I'd buy myself unless I could buy it at a gambler's price. Study NGC examples to see if a direct difference can be determined.

Yikes! The ? mark after the weight is a red flag. It's underweight by 2 grams. As you know, this is a pricey 1 yr. type.

If it's a 'feit, it's a good one.

These were around in the early 1980 s and except for the weight we're quite deceiving.
If my aging memory serves me , they were struck in good silver and originated in the Middle East.
Best way to be certain, attempt NGC certification. Good Luck , but personally I think it is a Counterfeit .

Thanks guys, I believe it is counterfeit as well. You guys pretty much reassured my feeling. It is in too good a shape to be missing 2g's.
