What Is The Best Surface Material To Place Proof Coins On For Photography?

rocky Pillar of the Community Canada 2784 Posts	Posted 09/04/2019 7:35 pm Sprollie light your coin from a very low angle. have a second light over top with a dimmer switch. that way you will light the high points. set the dimmer switchs to what you like. I alway like to see a slight shine. I will share an image of a coin. that is not a proof but proof like coin. look at the luster bars on the surface of the coin. the bulbs I use are led daylight equilant to a 100 watt bulb. I built the 2 dimmer switches. this is taken using a sony A7R mark II. the lens is the new 90mm sony macro lens. Report this Post to the Staff

Even at that, they are only supposed to be handled on the edges. Mint employees supposedly use cotton gloves to grab the coins by their edges.
