For FSB**, the bands have to be shaped like the old style loaf of bread, and be clearly defined as separated. It is almost essential that the coin has to have a sharp strike, and have no wear at all. (MS+ condition). That is why they reasonably scarce.
**FSB = Fully Split Bands. The coin pictured has close to being Split Bands, but does not comply with the full definition of 'FSB'

I don't think it would get FSB.

. Close but not quite. Still a strong strike for that Denver issue.

Looking again....does anyone think the center band was artificially opened? The right/center side has a straight appearance that looks 'too' straight. Knife edge like. Now, I know that is one tiny area in reality, but not impossible if someone is good at it. Right tools, etc. Does not look natural. Just an observation.

It looks fine to me. Many mercs were not even FB when they left the mint. The band are the first place that the dies would begin showing wear.

They don't have to look like bread loaves. Common misconception. They just have to be split with no breaks. SOME of the more common issues may be graded like that, but just look at most of the 45Ps to see that the bread loaf theory is not universal. I think the middle is actually a go, but the bottom band is what holds you back.

Got it. Just for an FYI...same dime...upside down view. Lighting, angle, depth, etc., all affect the look of FSB's, or anything for that matter. At least marginal FSB's. The bread loafs are just good no matter what. Just my observation. So here is pics that seem to show better formed FSB's to some degree on same coin, but still no cigar. Close though.

Upside down or otherwise, this is simply not FSB. Not even close.
